"Ready, Set, Soar: Student Expectations & Final Tasks to Complete Before you Take Flight as a Scarlet Raptor”
The first day of class is Tuesday, September 3rd.
Are you registered? Is your term bill paid? Did you check online for your
course syllabus? Do you know where your classes are located? Do you know what
your professors expect of you? Did you RSVP for the kickoff? Are you aware of
all the exciting things happening during welcome week? SO many questions, yet so little time! Take a peek at our
final webinar for a reminder of last minute tasks to check off your list and
important information you’ll need to know for a seamless and “soaring” fresh
start as a Scarlet Raptor this fall.
*Final checklist items discussed in this recording:
- Don’t forget to download the campus
app (access to Engage, shuttle tracker, live student feed, and more)
- Use the campus map to find
your class locations
- Check and pay your term bill by the deadline, and waive
the student
health insurance by 9/13 if you need to
- If you are experiencing issues
with your term bill or have questions about your financial aid, direct your
calls to the One-Stop
- Check for any uploaded syllabi
from your professors on Canvas or Sakai
- Upload your student
photo and pick up your RUID card at the Impact Booth
- Be mindful of the university dates
and deadlines on the academic
calendar
- Find textbooks on the bookstore
website
- Completion of the EverFi and
Academic Integrity modules is required in order to progress into classes next
spring
- Purchase your parking
permit if you plan to bring a car on campus
- Schedule your first coach meeting
on Raptor Connect ASAP!
- Raptor Welcome:
Monday September 2nd (all first-year students)
- Scarlet Scholar Kickoff: Tuesday
September 3rd (only students who have been paired with a Success Coach)
- Check the Engage page for a list
of campus events occurring during welcome week and throughout the school year
*Don't
forget to schedule your first coaching session before September 13th!
Students who schedule earlier are often more successful in their first
semester. Even if you don't have any questions or concerns to address, you'd be
surprised at the amount of new information that your coach has for you that you
didn't even know about!
