A
panel discussion on hair, hair discrimination, policies (particularly
in light of the new changes of our administration), and how hair
influences the health of people of color. The panelists discuss and
answer questions relating to incidents of 2020, hair stigma, hair
discrimination, policies, students' perspectives on career options
regarding natural hair in the workplace, updates since the CROWN Act
inception, how hair shapes health, and what to do if - your rights in
hair discrimination.
Panelists include Dr. Bernice Rumala, Co-founder of
CROWN Campaign; Shemekka Ebony, Co-founder of CROWN Campaign; Karen
Thompson, Attorney at law, NJ Chapter of the ACLU; Christina Anderson,
MPH Candidate Health Systems/Health Policy, Black Public Health Student
Alliance; and Amber Rockson, MPH Candidate Epidemiology, Black Public
Health Student Alliance. Moderated by Dr. Patti O'Brien-Richardson,
Bloustein School Associate Teaching Professor.
